Munakata Grand Shrine

A group of three shrines make the Munakata Grand Shrine, which is the head shrine of all shrines in the Munakata area. This is one of the three shrines, and the most popular among visitors. The construction of some parts of the shrine dates back to the twelfth century, but some believe that the site was used as a place of worship for far longer. A three-story treasure house is also located around here, with a wide-range of artifacts available for the visitor to see.

Miyajidake
Approximately 20 minutes by car from the hotel
A shrine for good luck and business prosperity, the Miyajidake is dedicated to the ancient Japanese Empress Jingu. The rope talisman in front of the shrine is unusually large, handmade by locals. In addition, Miyajidake also boasts a grand bell, and a taiko drum that is sounded only at the time of New Year's ceremonies.
